Holy Baptism is the basis of the whole Christian life, the gateway to life in the Spirit, and the door which gives access to the other sacraments. Through Baptism we are freed from sin and reborn as sons of God; we become members of Christ, are incorporated into the Church and made sharers in her mission: Baptism is the sacrament of regeneration through water in the word. Catechism of the Catholic Church 1213
Infant Baptism
Parents who are requesting Baptism for their child are asked to attend one meeting on the Sacrament of Baptism in order to understand the privilege and responsibility that comes with being a Catholic parent.
Once a couple has taken the class, Baptism is generally scheduled to be celebrated after a weekend Mass. Classes are held the first Thursday of the month. Please call to register for the class.
Please contact the parish office 636-661-5002 for more information or to schedule a class or a baptism.
Adult Baptism and Reception into the Catholic Church
Adult Baptism is at the conclusion of the Adult Rite of Initiation of Adults [R.C.I.A.], generally at Easter.
The Order of Christian Initiation of Adults is the method for preparing those who wish to join the Catholic Church. This is a process of formation and education which includes: hearing and sharing the Word of God, connecting our life stories to those in scripture, praying, celebrating Rites, learning about Catholic tradition and doctrine, sharing in community and becoming involved in the apostolic life of the Church. The goals of this initiation process are conversion and apostolic witness.
RCIA meets on Monday every week from September through May.
